Dhani
Serves 6
5 cups Dhani
2-3 tbsp oil
2 tbsp roasted chana dal
2 tbsp peanuts
¼ asafetida
¼ tsp sugar
½ tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp chili powder
salt to taste
In a bowl, mix sugar, turmeric powder, chili powder and salt. Keep aside for later.
Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large pan (kadai) at medium flame. Add asafetida, peanuts and chana dal. Fry for a 1-2 minutes. Remove peanuts and channa dal from the pan and set aside.
Heat the remaining oil in the pan. Add the spice mix and cook for 30 seconds.
Add dhani, peanuts and chana dal to the pan. Cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Cool jowar dhani completely and store in an airtight container.
Serve with Masala Chai!
